relatIQ is a Chrome extension and web application that helps founders and professionals with LinkedIn outreach. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. What we collect

When you use relatIQ, we collect:

• Account information — your name and email address, obtained via Google or LinkedIn OAuth through Clerk. We never see or store your password.
• LinkedIn content you use with relatIQ — the visible content of LinkedIn pages you use while the extension is active: profiles, search results, invitations, posts (including your own posts and their engagement, and the comments on them), and message threads you choose to save or import. This is read from the page in your browser; we do not use the LinkedIn API.
• Information about other people — the above includes information about people other than you, such as people you message, commenters, invitation senders and authors of posts you save. It is stored only in your own account, isolated from every other user, and used only to provide relatIQ to you.
• Your outreach context — background information, voice style, goals, notes, contact details and pipeline status that you provide to personalize drafts and track your outreach.
• Usage data — counts of AI requests made, token usage, and associated cost estimates, for billing and abuse prevention.
• Feedback and diagnostics — feedback you submit and technical reports if reading a page fails (these include the page address and the page's structure, not its text).
• Marketing website analytics — page visits, campaign source, approximate location, and browser or device information collected through Google Analytics.
• Product analytics — page types visited, specific actions taken (such as creating a goal, generating a draft, or upgrading a plan), and a pseudonymous account identifier, collected through Mixpanel across the webapp and extension to understand product usage. The extension sends its events to Mixpanel directly. A limited set of webapp page views before you sign in are recorded anonymously, with no account identifier attached.

2. How we use it

• To generate personalized message and post drafts using the Anthropic Claude API, post images using Google's Gemini API when you ask for one, LinkedIn search suggestions (Discover), the triage of LinkedIn profiles you capture, the categorization of LinkedIn connection requests you scan, and the fit scoring of LinkedIn search results you scan, using Google's Gemini API. Discover receives your goal, target persona and background; categorization receives each requester's name, headline and note, plus your goals and background; fit scoring receives each search result's name, headline and location, plus your goal's target persona; triage receives the captured profile's text (the page content you captured), plus your goals and background. The relevant profile data, conversation text, post text and your context are sent to these providers to produce the result. We also use TypeSafe AI, a fast text-classification service, to label the type of each of your goals (it receives the goal's title, target persona and value proposition) and the style of your own posts (it receives the post text, including saved drafts); we keep only the resulting label. Their data use policies govern that processing.
• To maintain your pipeline — tracking which connections you've reached out to and their status.
• To operate and improve the service.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data to train AI models. We do not use your data for advertising.

3. Data storage and security

All data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Google Cloud (us-central1). Each user's data is strictly isolated by user ID — no user can access another's data. Data is transmitted over HTTPS.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

relatiq.co sets a first-party cookie, rq_attr, when you arrive via a referral link or a marketing link with tracking parameters (such as utm_source). It stores the referral code and/or campaign parameters so we can credit the right referrer and know which channel brought you here. It is readable by relatiq.co and its subdomains (app.relatiq.co, api.relatiq.co) and expires after 60 days.

We use Google Analytics 4 on the marketing website to understand page visits and traffic sources. Google Analytics may set first-party cookies such as _ga and _ga_* to distinguish visitors and sessions. Page and campaign information, approximate location, and browser or device information are sent to Google. Our tag excludes referral codes and other arbitrary query parameters from the page URL sent to Google Analytics. You can learn more about Google Analytics data collection.

In the webapp and extension, Mixpanel records page types and specific product actions against the same pseudonymous account identifier once you're signed in, so we can see one person's usage across both. Before you sign in, a limited set of page views are recorded anonymously using Mixpanel's own device identifier, stored in browser local storage; this anonymous history is linked to your account identifier automatically once you sign in. In the extension, the install event uses a random identifier generated on your device. We have disabled automatic interaction capture and session recording. Prospect names, LinkedIn messages, drafts, form values, and full page URLs are not included in our Mixpanel events.

5. Third-party services

• Clerk — authentication (Google and LinkedIn sign-in).
• Anthropic — AI drafting. See anthropic.com/privacy.
• TypeSafe AI — fast classification of your goals (type) and of your own posts (writing style); receives the goal text or post text, and we keep only the resulting label.
• Google (Gemini API) — AI image generation, only when you request an image, generating Discover search suggestions from your goals, triaging profiles you capture, categorizing connection requests you scan, and scoring how well scanned search results fit your goal.
• Google Cloud — infrastructure (database, hosting, file storage).
• Paddle — payments and subscription billing; Paddle is the merchant of record and we do not receive your card details.
• Resend — delivery of transactional emails.
• Sentry — technical error monitoring.
• Google Analytics — marketing website visits and traffic sources.
• Mixpanel — webapp and extension product analytics.

We share data with these providers only to operate relatIQ. We do not sell your data.

6. LinkedIn compliance

relatIQ reads LinkedIn pages you open in your own browser. It never sends a message, connection request, post, comment or reaction for you, and never types into LinkedIn — you always do the sending yourself. It also reads the search-result, invitation and feed cards you can see, to show its badges and check them against your saved data.

A capture you start yourself (such as importing message history or capturing your posts and their comments) may scroll the page, expand "show more" controls, open existing threads and visit your own post pages, only to read that content. While it runs, relatIQ shows a status bar on the tab with a Stop button.

7. Data retention and deletion

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. To request deletion of your account and all associated data, email privacy@relatiq.co. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

8. Chrome extension permissions

The relatIQ Chrome extension requests the following permissions:

• tabs — to know which LinkedIn page you are viewing, to open the tabs used by captures you start, and to pass messages between the extension's parts.
• sidePanel — to show relatIQ in Chrome's side panel.
• storage — to keep your sign-in and per-tab state locally.
• scripting — to add the content script to LinkedIn tabs that were already open when the extension was installed or updated.
• clipboardWrite — to copy a draft when you click "Copy".
• alarms — a periodic local cleanup of unfinished captures; it makes no network requests.
• Host permissions — linkedin.com (to read the pages you use with relatIQ), api.relatiq.co (the relatIQ backend) and api.mixpanel.com (product analytics).

No permission is used for any purpose beyond what is described above.

9. Children's privacy

relatIQ is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will notify active users by email of material changes. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision.
