Privacy Policy

relatIQ is a Chrome extension and web application that helps founders and professionals with LinkedIn outreach. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. What we collect

When you use relatIQ, we collect:

• Account information — your name and email address, obtained via Google or LinkedIn OAuth through Clerk. We never see or store your password.
• LinkedIn profile data — public profile fields (name, headline, current role, location, about section) from LinkedIn pages you visit while the extension is active. This is read from the page DOM; we do not use the LinkedIn API.
• Message content — LinkedIn messages you choose to save or import into relatIQ for drafting assistance. You explicitly trigger this action.
• Your outreach context — background information, voice style, and goals you provide during onboarding to personalize AI-generated drafts.
• Usage data — counts of AI requests made, token usage, and associated cost estimates, for billing and abuse prevention.

2. How we use it

• To generate personalized message drafts using the Anthropic Claude API. Profile data and your context are sent to Anthropic to produce drafts. Anthropic's data use policy governs that processing.
• To maintain your pipeline — tracking which connections you've reached out to and their status.
• To operate and improve the service.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data to train AI models. We do not use your data for advertising.

3. Data storage and security

All data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Google Cloud (us-central1). Each user's data is strictly isolated by user ID — no user can access another's data. Data is transmitted over HTTPS.

4. Third-party services

• Clerk — authentication provider. Handles sign-in with Google and LinkedIn OAuth.
• Anthropic — AI provider. Profile data and your context are sent to generate message drafts. See anthropic.com/privacy.
• Google Cloud — infrastructure provider (database, hosting).

5. LinkedIn compliance

relatIQ reads publicly visible LinkedIn profile data from pages you navigate to in your own browser. The extension never performs automated clicks, automated messaging, or any action without your explicit input. You remain in full control of every action taken on LinkedIn.

6. Data retention and deletion

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. To request deletion of your account and all associated data, email privacy@relatiq.co. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

7. Chrome extension permissions

The relatIQ Chrome extension requests the following permissions:

• activeTab / tabs — to detect which LinkedIn profile you are viewing so the side panel can display the correct person's data.
• sidePanel — to render the relatIQ interface in Chrome's native side panel.
• storage — to cache per-tab state locally so the panel persists as you switch tabs.
• scripting — to inject a content script into LinkedIn pages that reads the visible profile DOM.
• clipboardWrite — to copy AI-generated drafts to your clipboard when you click "Copy".
• Host permission: linkedin.com — required for the content script to read profile information from LinkedIn pages.
• Host permission: api.relatiq.co — to communicate with the relatIQ backend API.

No permission is used for any purpose beyond what is described above.

8. Children's privacy

relatIQ is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will notify active users by email of material changes. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision.
